MEMPHIS, October 25, 2012---Dan Springer, Executive Assistant to Shelby County Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr., will soon leave his post with the mayor’s office to become the Director of Communications at Evolve Bank & Trust, headquartered in Memphis.

“Dan has served our community well during the past two years. He did an outstanding job as my executive assistant. All of us at the Shelby County Mayor’s Office will miss Dan but are excited about his new opportunity with Evolve Bank & Trust,” said Mayor Luttrell.

Springer, 28, was hired on with Shelby County Government in September of 2010. Prior to serving in the mayor’s office, Springer worked in Senator Bob Corker’s Office as a Legislative Correspondent. During his time with Mayor Luttrell, he worked on a variety of different projects.

Springer created and coordinated the Shelby County Government Citizens’ University, a program designed to introduce citizens to Shelby County Government services. He also coordinated the Mayor’s Young Professionals Council and the Young Professionals Collaborative geared toward retaining young people for the community’s local workforce.

Additionally, Springer served as the speech writer for Mayor Luttrell, was the federal government legislative liaison, and coordinated all social media for the mayor’s office.

As the Communications Director for Evolve Bank & Trust, Springer will oversee the company’s communications and marketing strategies as well as community and government relations.

“We’re excited to bring Dan on to the Evolve team. We feel that the experience he brings from the mayor’s office and from Washington, D.C. will serve us well,” said Scott Stafford, President, CEO and Director of Evolve Bank & Trust.

Springer will continue to serve at the Shelby County Mayor’s Office until November 2nd. He’ll assume his new duties at the bank later in the month.
